We Believe Every Child Has A Story Worth Telling.

Book Crafters exists to give children the tools, confidence, and platform to tell it. We help schools transform young learners into published digital authors – creating e-books, audiobooks, and interactive apps that showcase their voices, their art, and their imaginations.

Behind the Pages

Book Crafters was created by Stephen Edwards, a creative professional with a passion for bridging the gap between literacy and technology. With years of experience working in digital publishing, Stephen saw a gap: children were consuming stories, but rarely given the chance to create them in a professional, meaningful way.

Book Crafters was born to change that. Today, the goal is to partner with primary schools across the UK to deliver structured, cross-curricular programmes that turn classrooms into publishing houses and children into authors.

What We Do

(The Big Idea)

From Blank Page to Published Book

Book Crafters is a six-week programme that guides pupils through the complete journey of digital authorship. Students don’t just write stories, they bring them to life through illustration, narration, sound design, and professional formatting.

Working individually or in groups, every child finds their role. The result? A collection of professionally published multimedia books that pupils, parents, and teachers can be proud of.

Teachers are stretched. Pupils need more than worksheets. Parents want to see their children thrive. Book Crafters was designed to solve all of this – with one cohesive, ready-to-teach programme.

The Story So Far

(Case Study Snapshot)

Greenfield Primary School: A Pilot That Became a Legacy

When Greenfield Primary piloted Book Crafters with their Year 4 class, they expected engaged pupils. What they didn’t expect was the quiet child with dyslexia becoming the lead sound editor – and finding his voice. Or the class attendance rate climbing during project weeks. Or the Book Premiere that saw 98% of parents attend.

Today, Book Crafters is a permanent fixture across the school. The skills pupils learned now feed into their weekly podcast club. And the published books? Still being shared with grandparents, still making families proud.
